Projects

 

The following are some example projects:

  • Conducted hundreds of field investigations concerning wetlands, endangered species, and water-related matters;
  • Worked with governmental agencies in the developing country of Macedonia to improve environmental protection;
  • Monitored and regulated valuable, federally-protected natural aquatic resources on behalf of the U.S. government;
  • Served as Project Leader for a U.N. Development Program undertaking, in conjunction with the Macedonian Ministry of
  • Environment, to re-evaluate a large nature reserve on Lake Prespa in accordance with pending European Union standards;
  • Provided technical and capacity-building assistance to international non-governmental organizations (NGOs), helping them
  • prepare studies and reports to international scientific standards;
  • Working with the NGO, BIOECO, and the Ministry of Environment, conducted a water quality analysis of Lake Dojran and
  • local well water sources for a large, drought-related lake rehabilitation project in Macedonia;
  • Provided expertise in water purification for six weeks after the Indonesian tsunami;
  • Co-taught an educational workshop for Macedonian governmental officials on the preparation of Environmental Impact
  • Assessments;
  • Conducted agricultural and humanitarian aid needs assessments in the former Soviet Republics of Georgia and Armenia.
